Who is the Mountain Barista?

I’m Corrie van Niekerk, an adventure lifestyle content creator based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Over the past decade, my love for technical mountain trails and freshly brewed coffee at sunrise has evolved into a deep passion for storytelling through photography and video.

I love capturing the raw, unfiltered essence of true adventure. From rugged, off-trail hikes to demanding trail runs through harsh and unpredictable terrain, I seek out the stories that only exist where effort meets isolation. My content is rooted in real experiences. I believe that authenticity connects best with outdoor audiences.

My goal is to bring a unique, grounded approach to storytelling. Whether it’s a solo traverse or a summit mission, I aim to reflect the grit, growth, and respect that the mountains demand.

My personal mission? To summit as many peaks in South Africa, especially in the Western Cape, while pushing limits through long, technical traverses that test both body and spirit.

The mountains have taught me that challenge is the greatest teacher. My goal is to share that lesson through every frame I capture.
